So you want to teach HypnoBirthing?

Hey!  Me too!  I've been there...I did that (I even have the t-shirt)...and YOU can too!

The years I've spent as a HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator (HBCE) have been among the most rewarding of my life.  My role as an educator enables me to work closely with birthing families - helping them to discover their options, make informed decisions, and begin to plan, prepare, and expect a beautiful, calm, and empowered birthing experience.  Pretty good day at the office, eh?

I had the great honor of learning from the best.  When I joined the faculty as a Certified Master Trainer, Marie Mongan herself was there to facilitate our training.  It was just a wee bit like being in the presence of greatness.  I consider it both a privilege and an honor to bring Mickey's program and birthing philosophy to the next generation of educators who are ready to change the way we approach birth in our culture. I am now accepting registrations for professional educator trainings in 2022.  If you are an aspiring birth junkie yourself, or maybe just ready to do this next great thing, I'd love to have you join our team!

The HypnoBirthing Philosophy

As a potential HypnoBirthing Educator, it is important to know what you will be "selling" and to make sure this jives with your own personal ideals.  In a nutshell, it's very simple:

HypnoBirthing is more a philosophy of birth than it is a technique or a method for achieving a safer, easier, and more comfortable birth.  We in HypnoBirthing do not claim to offer (or even suggest) that studying HypnoBirthing will provide a painless birth.  (Although that is frequently a pretty cool side effect!)  The HypnoBirthing philosophy is based on the belief that a healthy woman carrying a healthy baby and having a healthy pregnancy who is properly prepared can confidently expect to be able to bring her baby into the world in a comfortable and gentle manner...just as nature intended.

That's it.  We teach women to trust their bodies.  Trust their babies.  And trust birth.

Pretty straightforward.

Certification Requirements...more than just a workshop!

The HypnoBirthing® Educator Certification Training is a 32 hour program.  There are 3 components required for certification:

Introduction to Hypnosis for Birthing - 12 hours in class

Educator Certification Training - 20 hours in class

Introduction to Birthing Basics** - Home study completed prior to the workshop (additional charge)

**Those candidates with a previous, solid birthing service experience -- i.e. physicians, labor and birthing nurses, midwives, certified birth educators, doulas may be eligible for prior learning recognition for the Birthing Basics segment.  Not sure if your experience counts?  Just ask!

Following the training workshop, candidates for certification will be required to complete and submit review questions for each portion of the training.  In addition, candidates will be required to submit a brief book review of a hypnosis specific book (eligible titles will be provided).  Candidates will also be expected to teach a "practice couple" the full 5 week series and submit a Case Study Report about the teaching experience, as well as participant evaluations, as part of their certification materials.  Parent materials required for the case study are included in the training tuition.  Finally, all training attendees will have the option to attend a review webinar one month after the training concludes so that they may reconnect with one another, have any questions answered, and make sure their certification requirements are well under way.

Candidates are encouraged to submit the above certification requirements within 90 days of the conclusion of the training workshop.

Tuition for the training is $1695.  Early Bird discounts do apply for tuition paid in full one month before training start date.  A limited number of scholarships are available for those who identify as persons of color.  Please ask me if this might be of interest!
